Subject: The End of Small Market Television.
Does The End of Small Market Television sound extreme? I don't
    think
    so. Here's why:
In 2009, the analog signals get turned off. Since the FCC
  HAS PUT NO
PRESSURE ON DIRECT SATELLITE COMPANIES TO UPLINK LOCAL TV STATION
SIGNALS many markets will NOT be on Echostar or Direct Satellite,
  when
the analog transmissions end. Many TV stations will simply
  become
  "cable stations",
In effect, as few consumers are interested in reception of
  over the air
TV - and no coupons are given to direct satellite viewers (
  who likely
  request waivers, anyway)
Result? Over night devastation to small market TV stations.
  The FCC
should exclude any non-uplinked station from the analog turnoff
  . The
NTIA should give coupons to direct satellite viewers.
Thanks,
