The Department of Commerce created the Committee in 2004.

Commerce's NTIA Announces New Commerce Spectrum Advisory Committee Members
WASHINGTON – The Department of Commerce's National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) today announced the appointment of a diverse group of experts from outside the Federal government, including the nonprofit and private sectors, for a two-year term to the Commerce Spectrum Advisory Committee (CSMAC). Committee members will provide advice and recommendations on a broad range of spectrum policy issues with the goal of strengthening the U.S.

CSMAC Notice of Meeting Room Location Change
On April 28, 2011, NTIA published in the Federal Register a notice announcing a public meeting of the Committee to be held at U.S. Department of Commerce, 1401 Constitution Avenue, NW., Room 6029, Washington, DC 20230. The Committee meeting will now be held in Room 6059. All other information regarding this public meeting remains unchanged.
