Today, the Department of Commerce’s National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) awarded more than $19 million in the third and final batch of grants from the second Notice of Funding Opportunity.
The $1.5 billion Wireless Innovation Fund supports the development of open and interoperable wireless networks. Open and interoperable wireless equipment will help drive competition, strengthen global supply chain resilience, and lower costs for consumers and network operators.

Biden-Harris Administration Recommends for Award More Than $162 Million to Expand Internet Use on Tribal Lands

Today, the Department of Commerce’s National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) has recommended for award more than $162 million to four Tribal entities to expand high-speed Internet access and adoption.
The funding from the nearly $3 billion Tribal Broadband Connectivity Program is part of the Biden-Harris Administration’s Internet for All Initiative. These grants are from the second round of funding, which made nearly $1 billion available for the deployment of Internet infrastructure on Tribal Lands, affordability programs, telehealth and distance learning initiatives. Awards will be issued following budget review and processing.
