NTIA Announces Members of Commerce Spectrum Management Advisory Committee
WASHINGTON – Today, the U.S. Department of Commerce’s National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) announced that Secretary of Commerce Gina M. Raimondo has appointed 29 outside experts to serve on the Commerce Spectrum Management Advisory Committee (CSMAC), which provides advice on a range of policy and technical issues related to wireless technology and the use of spectrum.
NTIA Announces Additions to Senior Leadership under Assistant Secretary Davidson
WASHINGTON – Today, NTIA announced that it is continuing to build out its senior leadership following the confirmation of Alan Davidson as Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Communications and Information. April McClain-Delaney, formerly the Washington Director of Common Sense Media, has been named Deputy Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Communications and Information. Andy Berke, former mayor of Chattanooga, Tenn., is joining NTIA as a special representative for broadband.
Department of Commerce’s NTIA Awards Additional $1.5M in Broadband Grants to Tribal Groups
WASHINGTON – The Department of Commerce’s National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) announced today it has awarded three additional grants as part of the Tribal Broadband Connectivity Program. These grants, totaling $1.5 million, are being awarded to the Confederated Tribes of Siletz Indians in Lincoln, Ore., and two Alaskan villages: the Village of Clarks Point and the Native Village of Selawik.
