WASHINGTON – The Department of Commerce’s National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) on Wednesday filed, on behalf of the Biden Administration, in support of the Federal Communications Commission’s (FCC) creation of a narrowly tailored Internet routing security reporting requirement.
WASHINGTON – Today, the Federal Communications Commission voted on a proposal that would require mobile providers to unlock customers’ cell phones within 60 days of activation. NTIA has advocated for such a policy for over a decade, both with the Library of Congress and the FCC.

The importance of the multistakeholder system of Internet governance was on full display last month in Kigali, Rwanda during the ICANN80 High Level Government Meeting (HLGM) and Policy Forum.
