Speech/Testimony
Good afternoon, and thank you David for that introduction. It’s a pleasure to be here. I have been attending CES – and have been mesmerized by CES – for over 15 years. I love coming to this show. I describe it to people as a temple of innovation – an ever-changing window into the power of technology to change our world.

In response to the Federal Communications Commission’s release of its pre-production draft map of broadband availability in the U.S., the following statement can be attributed to Alan Davidson, Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Communications and Information and NTIA Administrator
Speech/Testimony
Thank you Dr. DeSanctis, and thanks to the Community College of Denver for hosting us. I also want to thank the First Lady, Dr. Jill Biden. As a lifelong educator, Dr. Biden knows that most Americans are just looking for an opportunity – a fair shot – to pursue their dreams.
Speech/Testimony
Thank you Chairman Doyle, Chairman Pallone, Ranking Member Latta, Ranking Member Rodgers, and members of the Subcommittee for the opportunity to speak with you today. By law, NTIA serves as the President's advisor on telecommunications and information policy. NTIA’s programs and policymaking focus largely on expanding broadband Internet access and adoption in America, expanding the use of spectrum by all users, and ensuring that the Internet remains an engine for continued innovation and economic growth.
Speech/Testimony
Thank you. It’s wonderful to be back at MWC, and to be with all of you in person. We meet this week on the cusp of an historic opportunity. The President has set a goal of connecting all Americans to high-speed, affordable Internet, and the Senate agreed, passing a bipartisan bill to invest $65 billion in broadband. NTIA supports the President’s call to connect every American, and we stand ready to do everything we can to meet that goal.
Speech/Testimony
Thank you for inviting me to speak with you today. I hope you are all staying safe and healthy. At NTIA, most of our employees continue to telework, but we have maintained full continuity of our operations across our offices. NTIA, of course, has long recognized the importance of broadband. The Internet is an engine for innovation and growth and is critical to full participation in the 21st century economy.
Speech/Testimony
Thank you. I hope you are all staying safe and healthy during this unusual and difficult time for our country. At NTIA, most of our employees are teleworking but we have maintained full continuity of our operations across our offices. On the spectrum front, we’ve have made progress on a number of issues since the last meeting of CSMAC.
Speech/Testimony
Thank you, Jonathan. It’s a pleasure to be here. I also want to thank Robert Mayer, USTelecom staff, and all of the members of CSDE for making today possible. It’s been about two and a half years since the President issued his Executive Order on strengthening cybersecurity for federal networks and critical infrastructure. In response, the Department of Commerce and DHS partnered on a report that described how we could better strengthen our resilience against botnets and similar threats.
Speech/Testimony
Good morning. It’s an honor to be here and welcome you to the 2019 CASE Summit. We are proud to be partnering with Johnson C. Smith University, and the White House Initiative on Historically Black Colleges and Universities, to bring you today’s program. I especially want to thank President Clarence Armbrister, Johnathan Holifield, and NTIA’s Francine Alkisswani for making today’s event a reality. We’re here to support and celebrate the great work being done at HBCUs around the country, and to try and figure out – together – how we can extend that success into surrounding communities.
Speech/Testimony
Chairman Johnson, Ranking Member Peters, and Members of the Committee, thank you for this opportunity to testify today on Supply Chain Security, Global Competitiveness, and 5G. During a time when an ever-changing landscape of services, technologies, and global industries are seeking to shape the development and deployment of 5G networks, NTIA collaborates with other Commerce bureaus and Executive Branch agencies to develop and advocate for domestic and international policies that preserve the open Internet and advance key U.S. interests.

Good morning. It’s great to be here at the National Press Club. I was here just last week for NTIA’s annual spectrum policy event. It was a really terrific event, and like today, it’s made all the better because we’re just one block from my office. I’d like to thank Forum Global for inviting me to speak today and for putting together a great program. Later this morning NTIA’s privacy policy specialist, Travis Hall, will be speaking on a panel about data innovation. Travis has been a key leader working on privacy at NTIA, so I think everyone here will really benefit from hearing his thoughts on these issues.
