The National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) is seeking applications from persons interested in serving on the Public Wireless Supply Chain Innovation Fund Advisory Committee (hereinafter “the IFAC” or “the Committee”) for a two-year term. The IFAC will advise the Secretary and the NTIA Administrator on the administration of the Public Wireless Supply Chain Innovation Fund.

Overview:

The Innovation Fund aims to foster competition, lower costs for consumers and network operators, support innovation across the global telecommunications ecosystem, and strengthen the 5G supply chain. The overall objectives include unlocking opportunities for innovative companies, particularly small and medium enterprises, to compete in a market historically dominated by a few suppliers, some of which present a high security risk.

The National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) is excited to share information about its recently released second Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) for the Public Wireless Supply Chain Innovation Fund (Innovation Fund). This NOFO focuses on Open Radio Commercialization and Innovation, furthering the program's commitment to advancing open wireless network technologies. The NOFO 2 Information Session, held May 17 in Mclean Virginia, provided a forum for potential applicants, their partners, and industry members to learn more about the Innovation Fund and the program's second NOFO and ask the program team questions. NTIA asked participants to send the questions they would like addressed during the open Q&A by May 14, 2024 to the Innovation Fund email.
