Governor's Opt-Out Notice To Conduct State Radio Access Network
The Middle Class Tax Relief and Job Creation Act of 2012 requires a Governor of a State to notify the First Responder Network Authority (FirstNet), the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA), and the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) of a State's decision to opt-out of participation in the deployment of the nationwide public safety broadband network (NPSBN) as proposed by FirstNet and to conduct its own deployment of a Radio Access Network in the State. This Notice provides instructions for such “opt-out” notices to NTIA.

Scope of NTIA’s Authority Regarding FirstNet Fees
Congress authorized the First Responder Network Authority (FirstNet), an independent authority within NTIA, to assess and collect, among other funds, three specific types of fees. By law, NTIA must review and approve these fees on an annual basis. This final rule describes NTIA’s overarching scope, boundaries, and guidelines for its FirstNet fee review and approval process as mandated by the Middle Class Tax Relief and Job Creation Act of 2012 and is effective on August 29, 2017.
04/21/2017 Notice of Recruitment of Firstnet Board Members
NTIA issues this Notice on behalf of the First Responder Network Authority (FirstNet) to initiate the annual process to seek expressions of interest from individuals who would like to serve on the FirstNet Board. NTIA issues this Notice to obtain expressions of interest in being selected by the Secretary to the FirstNet Board. Expressions of interest must be postmarked or electronically transmitted on or before May 22, 2017.

Recruitment of First Responder Network Authority Board Members
NTIA issues this Notice on behalf of the First Responder Network Authority (FirstNet) to initiate the annual process to seek expressions of interest from individuals who would like to serve on the FirstNet Board. Four of the 12 appointments of non-permanent members to the FirstNet Board expire in August 2016. The Secretary of Commerce may reappoint individuals to serve on the FirstNet Board provided they have not served two consecutive full three-year terms. NTIA issues this Notice to obtain expressions of interest in the event the Secretary must fill any vacancies arising on the Board.
