Public Engagement

The Oklahoma Broadband Office hosted the “Oklahoma’s Digital Promise” tour, with stops in 10 cities and towns. The tour provided information and gathered public input for a detailed plan to help close the digital divide separating people and businesses from access to high-speed Internet.

Mapping

The Oklahoma Broadband Office created a comprehensive mapping tool with state and Federal Communications Commission (FCC) data, which provides additional information on statewide Internet access to ensure future grant-funded projects target areas of great need.

The map allowed users to:

  • Search addresses;
  • View unserved, underserved, and served locations;
  • Distinguish between different technologies in use;
  • See reported Internet speeds by location; and
  • View areas receiving upgrades through federal grant funding.
