The San Ildefonso Services, which serves the Pueblo of San Ildefonso, New Mexico, began its environmental review work for its $4.9 million broadband infrastructure deployment project, that when complete will directly connect more than 250 Tribal households via fiber and fixed wireless.

The Southern Ute Indian Tribe of the Southern Ute Reservation, Colorado began the environmental review work for its $43.7 million broadband infrastructure deployment project. When complete, this project will directly connect more than 500 unserved Tribal households and community anchor institutions via fiber to the premises.

Events

Tribal Broadband Connectivity Program (TBCP) staff assisted in the coordination of more than 20 Tribal consultations between the State of New Mexico, the State of Colorado, and the Tribal governments that share their continuous borders to ensure Tribal priorities are heard by each state’s broadband office.

National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) Assistant Secretary Alan Davidson joined TBCP staff in visiting numerous Pueblos, including but not limited to, the Pueblo of Santa Clara (the Pueblo). At the Pueblo, Assistant Secretary Davidson met with elected Tribal leadership to discuss broadband barriers and solutions. The Pueblo of Santa Clara received a TBCP award to install fiber, directly connecting around 600 unserved Native American households with fiber to the home service of 1 Gigabit per second symmetrical and 50/10 Megabits per second wireless service.
