NTIA is working to increase broadband Internet adoption in the United States, which will help more Americans compete in the 21st century economy. NTIA's initiatives include an annual nationwide survey and report on broadband use, which can inform efforts to close the digital divide, and DigitalLiteracy.gov, a website with resources for teaching and learning computer and online skills.

Notice of 03/22/2016 Community Connectivity Initiative Workshop
NTIA, through the BroadbandUSA program, will hold a half-day workshop on March 22, 2016, to engage stakeholders in developing meaningful measures for community broadband access, adoption, policy and use as part of its efforts to develop the Community Connectivity Initiative. The Community Connectivity Initiative Workshop will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon, Pacific Daylight Time in Seattle, WA.
NTIA Comments to the FCC on Lifeline and Link Up Reform and Modernization
NTIA offers comments on behalf of the Administration in support of updating the Lifeline program to subsidize access to broadband for low-income consumers. Based on the Administration’s extensive experience in leading national broadband programs, the Administration recommends that the FCC make enhancements to the Lifeline program.
