NTIA Publishes Additional Proposed Service Areas for Broadband Infrastructure Program, Invites Service Providers to Submit Information
WASHINGTON – Today, the U.S. Department of Commerce’s National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) published proposed service areas for two applications undergoing review for funding through the NTIA Broadband Infrastructure Program. The proposed service areas for these two applications were provided by the applicants before the program’s 90-day application window closed on August 17, 2021, but were omitted in error from NTIA’s first announcement on October 4, 2021.
Department of Commerce’s NTIA Awards First Grants to Tribal Groups Seeking to Expand Broadband
WASHINGTON – Vice President Kamala Harris announced today at the conclusion of the White House 2021 Tribal Nations Summit that the U.S. Department of Commerce’s National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) has awarded the first three grants as part of the Tribal Broadband Connectivity Program. These initial awards, totaling nearly $1.4 million, are being made to the Taos Pueblo in New Mexico, the Upper Mattaponi Tribe in Virginia, and the Sokaogon Chippewa Community Wisconsin.
