Skagway Traditional Council

The project intends to provide access to broadband services by utilizing grant funds to purchase pre-paid service via Alaska Power & Telephone (AP&T):

Skagway Traditional Council will prepay AP&T during the first quarter of its period of performance for five years of participation in the AP&T Wireless Tribal Broadband Affordability Program for eligible Tribal members;
AP&T will hold the funds in a non-interest accruing account given its status as a contractor per 2 CFR 200; and
Skagway Traditional Council will the evaluate success of the program through quarterly surveys for the duration of the program to track progress.

The project’s expected outcome is to facilitate broadband adoption activities, including telehealth, distance learning, workforce development, and digital inclusion efforts.

The project intends to benefit 110 Tribal households in the remote village of Skagway.
