Expanding an existing fiber network to 15 unserved Tribal households and 4 Tribal community anchor institutions (Tribal fire station, USDA building, environmental building, and the McCarthy Ranch Shop) by adding a 1700-foot middle mile extension to existing infrastructure. This will provide Internet access at a minimum of 100/20 Mbps with a latency of less than 1 ms.
Working with Calix, Inc. to obtain software, hardware, training, and technical support.
Working with Pavletich Electric and Communications, Inc. to place fiber into 2” conduits.
Engaging Southern California Edison (SCE) to complete pole attachments.
Installing Internet access equipment in 15 unserved Tribal households connecting to AT&T’s Direct Internet Circuit (5G).

The goal of this project is to implement cost-effective reliable high-speed broadband Internet service by expanding an existing network to the Tribal community. This project is the basis for economic development opportunities, increasing access to outside services, and enhancing communications between friends and families.
