Acting Secretary Rebecca Blank Announces Board of Directors for the First Responder Network Authority
Acting U.S. Commerce Secretary Rebecca Blank appointed twelve of the nation’s leading experts on public safety and wireless broadband communications to serve on the Board of the First Responder Network Authority (FirstNet). FirstNet is congressionally mandated to establish a nationwide wireless broadband network that enables police, firefighters, emergency services personnel, and others in public safety to better communicate with one another during emergencies and use new technology to improve response time, keep communities safe, and save lives.

This meeting is the third in a series of NTIA-convened discussions concerning mobile application transparency. Stakeholders will engage in an open, transparent, consensus-driven process to develop a code of conduct regarding mobile app transparency. In addition, the meeting will provide a venue for stakeholders to agree on the schedule, location, and format of future meetings.

CSMAC Notice of Open Meeting October 4, 2012
This notice announces a public meeting of the Commerce Spectrum Management Advisory Committee (Committee). The Committee provides advice to the Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Communications and Information on spectrum management policy matters. The meeting will be held on October 4, 2012, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Eastern Daylight Time.
The Committee will receive recommendations from subcommittees on matters related to the accomplishment of the President’s ten year goal of identifying 500 megahertz of radio spectrum for wireless broadband.
Notice of Privacy Multistakeholder Process Open Meetings
NTIA will convene a series of meetings through December 2012 of a privacy multistakeholder process concerning mobile application transparency.
