Spectrum Sharing Innovation Test-Bed Pilot Program -- Notice, request for comments

A public meeting of the Commerce Spectrum Management Advisory Committee (Committee) will be held on May 30, 2012. The Committee provides advice to the Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Communications and Information on needed reforms to domestic spectrum policies and management in order to license radio frequencies in a way that maximizes their public benefits, keep wireless networks as open to innovation as possible, and make wireless services available to all Americans.

On April 16, 2012, the Department of Commerce re-issued the Request for Proposal (RFP) SA1301-12-RP-0043 for a new Internet Assigned Numbers Authority (IANA) functions contract. The continued performance of these functions is critical to preserving the stability and security of the Internet’s Domain Name System. Pursuant to Section 6001(d)(4) of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA or Recovery Act) (Public Law No. 111-5), the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) provides this Quarterly Report on the status of the Broadband Technology Opportunities Program (BTOP or Program).
