NTIA will convene open public meetings of the Board of the First Responder Network Authority (FirstNet). The meetings will be held on December 11, 2012; April 23, 2013; August 13, 2013; and October 15, 2013, from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Eastern Time in Washington, D.C. Additional meetings will be held February 12, 2013, and December 17, 2013 in Boulder, Colorado; and June 11, 2013, in San Francisco, California.

The Middle Class Tax Relief and Job Creation Act of 2012 created the First Responder Network Authority (FirstNet) as an independent authority within NTIA. The Act directs FirstNet to establish a single nationwide, interoperable public safety broadband network. The FirstNet Board is responsible for making strategic decisions regarding FirstNet’s operations. The FirstNet Board will hold its first public meeting on September 25, 2012.
Development of Programmatic Requirements for the State and Local Implementation Grant Program To Assist in Planning for the Nationwide Public Safety Broadband Network
NTIA issues this Notice to announce requirements for the State and Local Implementation Grant Program authorized by section 6302 of the Middle Class Tax Relief and Job Creation Act of 2012 (Act). The Notice describes the programmatic requirements under which NTIA will award grants to assist state, local, and tribal governments with planning for a nationwide interoperable public safety broadband network.

This notice announces a public meeting of the Commerce Spectrum Management Advisory Committee (Committee). The Committee provides advice to the Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Communications and Information on spectrum management policy matters. The meeting will be held on October 4, 2012, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Eastern Daylight Time.
The Committee will receive recommendations from subcommittees on matters related to the accomplishment of the President’s ten year goal of identifying 500 megahertz of radio spectrum for wireless broadband.
