Secretary Pritzker Appoints Boniface to FirstNet Board
U.S. Commerce Secretary Penny Pritzker appointed Barry Boniface to serve on the Board of the First Responder Network Authority (FirstNet). The Middle Class Tax Relief and Job Creation Act of 2012 created FirstNet as an independent entity within NTIA, and charged it with establishing a nationwide public safety broadband network.

FirstNet Blanket Purchase Agreements Awarded
FirstNet anticipates the imminent release of several competitive Task Orders for support personnel the week of November 11, 2013. Three Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSBs) were competitively awarded Blanket Purchase Agreements (BPAs) primarily for technical support and one SDVOSB was competitively awarded a BPA for general program management and acquisition support.
