NTIA, through the BroadbandUSA program, will hold a half-day workshop on March 22, 2016, to engage stakeholders in developing meaningful measures for community broadband access, adoption, policy and use as part of its efforts to develop the Community Connectivity Initiative. The Community Connectivity Initiative Workshop will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon, Pacific Daylight Time in Seattle, WA.

NTIA offers comments on behalf of the Administration in support of updating the Lifeline program to subsidize access to broadband for low-income consumers. Based on the Administration’s extensive experience in leading national broadband programs, the Administration recommends that the FCC make enhancements to the Lifeline program.

The next meeting of the Commerce Spectrum Management Advisory Committee will be on March 18, 2016, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Eastern Daylight Time. The meeting will be held at the Wiley Rein Conference Center, 1776 K Street NW., Washington, DC 20006. CSMAC provides advice to the Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Communications and Information on spectrum management policy matters.

The Digital Northwest Broadband Summit will be held on March 21, 2016, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Pacific Daylight Time. The meeting will be held at the Bell Harbor Conference Center, 2211 Alaskan Way, Pier 66, Seattle, WA 98121.

The Department of Commerce, as part of its continuing effort to reduce paperwork and respondent burden, invites the general public and other Federal agencies to take this opportunity to comment on proposed and/or continuing information collections, as required by the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995.

Written comments must be submitted on or before April 18, 2016. Comments submitted in response to this notice will be summarized and/or included in the request for OMB approval of this information collection; they will also become a matter of public record.

NTIA will convene a meeting of a multistakeholder process concerning privacy, transparency, and accountability issues regarding commercial and private use of unmanned aircraft systems on February 24, 2016. The meeting will be held from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., Eastern Time in the Boardroom at the American Institute of Architects, 1735 New York Avenue NW., Washington, DC 20006.

Pursuant to Section 6001(d)(4) of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA or Recovery Act) (Public Law No. 111-5), NTIA provides this Quarterly Report on the status of the Broadband Technology Opportunities Program (BTOP). This Report focuses on the Program’s activities from April 1 to June 30, 2015.
