NTIA announces the establishment of the Communications Supply Chain Risk Information Partnership (C-SCRIP) in support of the requirements of Section 8 of the Secure and Trusted Communications Network Act of 2019 (Act). The Act directs NTIA, in cooperation with other designated federal agencies, to establish a program to share supply chain security risk information with trusted providers of advanced communications service and suppliers of communications equipment or services.

On June 12, 2020, the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) published a Notice and Request for public comments on Section 8 of the Secure and Trusted Communications Network Act of 2019 (Act). Section 8 of the Act directs NTIA, in cooperation with other designated federal agencies, to establish a program to share supply chain security risk information with trusted providers of advanced communications service and suppliers of communications equipment or services.

This notice announces a public meeting of the Commerce Spectrum Management Advisory Committee (Committee). The Committee provides advice to the Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Communications and Information and NTIA on spectrum management policy matters. The meeting will be held July 30, 2020, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Eastern Daylight Time (EDT). This meeting will be conducted in an electronic format and open to the public via audio teleconference (866–652–3435 participant code 28570198).

NTIA requested comments in accordance with the Secure 5G and Beyond Act of 2020 to inform the development of an Implementation Plan for the National Strategy to Secure 5G. The comment period ended on 06/25/2020.

On May 28, 2020, NTIA, on behalf of the Executive Branch, published a Notice seeking comments in accordance with the Secure 5G and Beyond Act of 2020 to inform the development of an Implementation Plan for the National Strategy to Secure 5G.   Through this Notice, NTIA is extending the comment deadline by seven days from June 18, 2020, to June 25, 2020. Comments must be received on or before June 25, 2020.

Section 8 of the Secure and Trusted Communications Network Act of 2019 (Act)  directs NTIA, in cooperation with other designated federal agencies, to establish a program to share supply chain security risk information with trusted providers of advanced communications service and suppliers of communications equipment or services.  Through this Notice and in accordance with the Act, NTIA is requesting comment on ways to facilitate the sharing of security risk information with such trusted providers.  These comments will inform the program that NTIA establishes under the Act.

NTIA requested comments on proposals and positions for the 2020 World Telecommunication Standardization Assembly.  Comments were due 06/08/2020.

In accordance with the Secure 5G and Beyond Act of 2020, the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA), on behalf of the Executive Branch, is requesting comments to inform the development of an Implementation Plan for the National Strategy to Secure 5G. Written comments identified by Docket No. 200521-0144 may be submitted by email to [email protected]. NTIA is seeking comments and recommendations on priorities that advance international communications and information policies at the International Telecommunication Union (ITU). Additionally, NTIA seeks input from stakeholders and interested parties on its proposals and positions on matters that will be addressed at the 2020 World Telecommunication Standardization Assembly (WTSA– 2020) of the ITU.
