Notice of Public Meetings on Copyright Policy Topics
The Department of Commerce’s Internet Policy Task Force plans to hold four roundtables on certain copyright topics in cities across the United States in May, June, and July 2014. Topics are the legal framework for the creation of remixes, the relevance and scope of the first sale doctrine in the digital environment, and the appropriate calibration of statutory damages in the contexts of individual file sharers and of secondary liability for large-scale infringement.

The FirstNet Board will hold a Special Meeting via teleconference on April 8, 2014, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Eastern Time. Members of the public may listen to the meeting by dialing toll-free 1–800–369–1868 and using passcode ‘‘FirstNet.’’ Due to the limited number of ports, attendance via teleconference will be on a first-come, first-served basis.
Seventh Annual Progress Report on the Relocation of Federal Radio Systems from the 1710-1755 MHz Spectrum Band
Section 207 of the Commercial Spectrum Enhancement Act (CSEA), Title II of P.L. 108-494 requires annual reporting on federal agencies’ progress to vacate certain wireless communications systems from the 1710 megahertz (MHz) to 1755 MHz radio spectrum that has been reallocated to commercial use. NTIA published the first annual report to Congress on April 17, 2008. That report covered relocation activity occurring over the period March 2007 through December 2007.

There is no one party – government or industry, including the United States Government – that controls the Internet. The Internet is a decentralized network of networks.
