Pursuant to Section 6001(d)(4) of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA or Recovery Act) (Public Law No. 111-5), the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) provides this Quarterly Report on the status of the Broadband Technology Opportunities Program (BTOP or Program). This report focuses on the Program’s activities from July 1 to September 30, 2013.

These comments include contributions and input from the United States Search and Rescue Satellite Aided Tracking (SARSAT) program and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), and reflect the views of the Executive Branch on the issues raised in the Notice.

FirstNet General Manager Bill D'Agostino addressed nearly 2,000 members of the NTCA/Rural Broadband Association today in San Antonio. D’Agostino reinforced FirstNet's commitment to building out a dedicated broadband network for public safety, and embraced the nation's rural carriers. "Our message is one of partnership with you,” said D’Agostino.

This notice announces a public meeting of the Commerce Spectrum Management Advisory Committee. The Committee provides advice to the Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Communications and Information on spectrum management policy matters. The meeting will be held on March 28, 2014, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Eastern Daylight Time. The meeting will be held at the U.S. Department of Commerce, 1401 Constitution Avenue NW., Room 4830, Washington, DC 20230. Please see the attachment below for further information.
