U.S. Broadband Availability June 2010 - June 2012
This report on the availability of broadband, authored by NTIA, is the first in a series of Broadband Briefs that uses publicly available data collected by the Department of Commerce to examine broadband availability in greater detail. This report uses current data from the June 30, 2012 State Broadband Initiative (SBI) dataset, which is the same data that populates the National Broadband Map (NBM), as well as historical data from June 2010 and June 2011.

While I haven’t seen any basis for these allegations, I do respect Sheriff Fitzgerald’s right to raise issues that he genuinely believes are important to ensure that the FirstNet Board properly discharges its duties.

“Thank you for that kind introduction. I am excited to be part of this mission, and honored to work with the FirstNet Board to deliver first responders a nationwide, dedicated public safety network.
Today is my second day on the job, and I have an enormous amount of work to do to catch up. I’ve already met with the Board and the technical team, and I am impressed by the great work and progress that’s been made in such a short period of time.
