Broadband Grant Programs Public Virtual Listening Sessions

NTIA will host broadband grant program public virtual listening sessions in connection with the five new broadband grant programs authorized and funded by the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act: The Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment Program; the Enabling Middle Mile Broadband Infrastructure Program; and the Digital Equity Act Programs, which include the State Digital Equity Planning Grant Program, State Digital Equity Capacity Grant Program, and Digital Equity Competitive Grant Program.

NTIA to Convene Privacy, Equity, and Civil Rights Listening Sessions

November 30, 2021

NTIA will convene three virtual Listening Sessions about issues and potential solutions at the intersection of privacy, equity, and civil rights. The sessions will help to provide the data for a report on the ways in which commercial data flows of personal information can lead to disparate impact and outcomes for marginalized or disadvantaged communities.

The meetings will be held on December 14, 15, and 16, 2021, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., Eastern Standard Time.

The Executive Order on Improving the Nation’s Cybersecurity directs the Department of Commerce, in coordination with the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA), to publish the minimum elements for a Software Bill of Materials (SBOM).  Through this Notice, following from the Executive Order, NTIA is requesting comments on the minimum elements for an SBOM, and what other factors should be considered in the request, production, distribution, and consumption of SBOMs.  

Comments are due on or before June 17, 2021.

Notice of Reopening of Application Window for CSMAC Nominations

Through this Notice, NTIA is reopening an application window for nominations to the Commerce Spectrum Management Advisory Committee (CSMAC).  On March 17, 2021, NTIA published a Notice seeking nominations to the CSMAC with a deadline of April 16, 2021, for submissions.  In reopening this application window, NTIA seeks to expand the pool of applicants and best ensure the composition of the committee reflects balanced points of view.
