Revision to the Manual of Regulations and Procedures for Federal Radio Frequency Management (2016)
NTIA is making certain changes to its regulations relating to the public availability of the Manual of Regulations and Procedures for Federal Radio Frequency Management (NTIA Manual). Specifically, NTIA is releasing an update to the current edition of the NTIA Manual, with which federal agencies must comply when requesting use of radio frequency spectrum. NTIA is also making changes to the regulatory text to comply with the Incorporation by Reference formatting structure. This regulation is effective on June 1, 2016.
Notice of 06/15/2016 Meeting of the Privacy Multistakeholder Process on Facial Recognition Technology
NTIA will convene a meeting of a privacy multistakeholder process concerning the commercial use of facial recognition technology on June 15, 2016 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Eastern Daylight Time. The meeting will be held in the Boardroom at the American Institute of Architects, 1735 New York Avenue NW., Washington, DC 20006.

The next meeting of the Commerce Spectrum Management Advisory Committee will be on June 8, 2016, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Eastern Daylight Time. The meeting will be held at Wilkinson Barker Knauer, LLP, 1800 M Street NW., Suite 800N, Washington, DC 20036. CSMAC provides advice to the Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Communications and Information on spectrum management policy matters.
Enabling Smart Cities with Infrastructure and Policy
The 2016 GCTC Expo, convened by NIST and US Ignite, will showcase GCTC Action Clusters and feature speakers and panelists on a wide range of smart city topics. Experts from the National Telecommunications and Information Administration and NTIA's Institute for Telecommunication Sciences will host a panel to discuss how they’re leading cutting-edge research on spectrum sharing and interference, helping communities expand their broadband infrastructure, and developing policies that foster innovation.

Input on Proposals and Positions for 2016 World Telecommunication Standardization Assembly
NTIA seeks input from stakeholders and interested parties to help develop its proposals and positions regarding matters that will be addressed at the upcoming 2016 World Telecommunication Standardization Assembly (WTSA-2016) of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), being held from October 25 to November 3, 2016. The results of this Notice and Request for Public Comment will be reflected in NTIA's recommendations for U.S. proposals and positions to the U.S. Department of State, which is coordinating the WTSA-2016 preparatory process.
Sixth Quarterly Report on the Transition of the Stewardship of the Internet Assigned Numbers Authority (IANA) Functions
NTIA provides quarterly reports on all aspects of the proposed transition of the U.S. government’s stewardship role over the Internet Assigned Numbers Authority (IANA) functions. NTIA’s previous reports and detailed background can be found here. This report covers activities from January 1, 2016 to March 31, 2016. As required by Public Law 114-113, NTIA will continue to update this report on a quarterly basis.
