Texas

Texas Department of Public Safety

Texas will use the existing Texas Interoperable Communications Coalition (TxICC) and the recently established TxICC Statewide Communication Interoperability Plan (SCIP) Executive Council to implement the State and Local Implementation Grant Program (SLIGP).  The State plans to utilize the SCIP Executive Council and 24 existing Regional Councils of Government (COG) as the primary vehicles for education and outreach to local jurisdictions.  Texas has previously coordinated with tribes through the COGs, TxICC, TxIC SCIP, and Texas Interagency Coordination Center.  The State will continue to leverage these existing relationships to engage its three federally recognized tribes in public safety broadband planning efforts.
