Alaska

Alaska Department of Public Safety

Alaska will utilize its existing Alaska Interoperable Communication Committee to implement the State and Local Implementation Grant Program (SLIGP).  The State plans to update their Statewide Communication Interoperability Plan as part of the process, and will use regional workshops, existing meetings and conferences, including the annual Alaska Association of Chiefs of Police Executive Development Seminar, as the primary vehicles for education and outreach to local jurisdictions.  Alaska plans to reach out to entities such as the Alaska Federation of Natives and Regional Native Corporations for input and to help engage its 229 federally recognized tribes in public safety broadband planning efforts.
